We also create deluxe editions made with a variety of specialty, non-tree papers produced from elephant dung, bamboo, agricultural waste, cotton, hemp, flax, and other unique materials. We all appreciate your help. What's the deal with all the different types of paper? Recycled Content means the paper is made from reprocessed waste materials. This reprocessed waste material may come from paper that was originally made from old-growth forest trees, therefore, paper made with recycled content doesn't mean much. It's more than likely not Earth friendly paper and at the very least, it's not as Earth friendly as it should be! Post-consumer Content means the paper is made from content that has previously been used by consumers and is reconstituted into post-consumer recycled fiber. Forest Stewardship Council Certified (FSC) means the paper is made out of trees from responsibly managed forests. When purchasing paper, always buy paper that is Process Chlorine Free (PCF) or Totally Chlorine Free (TCF). Paper mills often use chlorine compounds to bleach paper pulp. This produces dioxins, a Persistent Organic Pollutant (POPs) which has been linked to diseases and abnormalities in a number of wildlife species including fish, birds, and mammals.
